Yachting Malta in cooperation with the Malta Maritime Law Association (MMLA), the Superyacht Network, the Malta Chamber (Yachting Committee) and Maritime MT on the occasion of the 2024 Malta Boat Show has organised workshops addressing the realities, challenges and needs of the local boating community and industry.
We have teamed up with a number of industry leaders and experts and are pleased to say that the exchanges have been very interesting and fruitful to all. The event brought together local professionals to learn about the opportunities locally available, discuss and network, as well as youths and students who are looking for options to build a career, or already decided they wish to pursue a career in our growing industry.
The workshops were held at the American University of Malta in Cospicua on Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November.
The first workshop was dedicated to Careers in the Malta Yachting Scene while the second workshop chaired by Dr Chris Cini addressed the topic of Financing & Insuring Yachts in Malta.
Dr. Alison Vassallo moderated the panel on Yacht Finance. Panelists inlcuded Ms Angie Vassallo of BOV, Mr Khail Borg Cesareo of AB Finance, Mr Willem Steenkamer of SJ Maritime Finance and Mr Chris Trapani of Fimbank.
Ms. Christine Cassar Naudi moderated the panel on Yacht Insurance. Panelists included Ms Judith Galea of National Insurance Brokers, Mr Conrad Chetcuti of Central Insurance Brokers, Mr Tonio Borg of Postainsurance representatives of MAPFRE, Mr Chris Delicata of Gasanmamo Insurance and Mr Etienne Naudi Montebello of Elmo Insurance.
